Defend Our Future Acquired by Climate Action Campaign
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Defend Our Future, the youth advocacy arm of the Environmental Defense Fund, has been acquired by the Climate Action Campaign. This acquisition will enable Defend Our Future to merge its vital climate organizing work on college campuses across the United States with one of the country’s most effective climate organizing organizations. Climate Action Campaign will assume ownership of all Defend Our Future assets and will continue to run the campus organizing program under the Defend Our Future brand.
“As a founding member of the Climate Action Campaign, Environmental Defense Fund has witnessed the coalition’s exceptional work organizing for climate progress,” said Environmental Defense Fund senior director for campaigns Reggie Paros. “Comprised of a dozen major national environmental, environmental justice and public health groups, Climate Action Campaign is dedicated to driving ambitious and sustainable federal action to combat the climate crisis, making them the ideal partner to ensure Defend Our Future’s brand, social media presence and organizing capabilities yield the strongest results in protecting the planet for future generations.”
“Over the years, Defend Our Future and Climate Action Campaign have worked hand-in-glove to mobilize students in support of climate action,” said Climate Action Campaign Director Margie Alt. “This established partnership sets a strong foundation for the future of both Defend Our Future and Climate Action Campaign. We are pleased to carry forward this important work to catalyze the next generation to fight for the healthier, climate-stable future they deserve.”
