Scranton, PA Press Conference with Farmers, Business Owners, & Electeds
Event Recap: Speakers thanked President Biden, Senator Bob Casey, Congressman Matt Cartwright, and Pennsylvania’s other congressional leaders for passing the IRA in 2022 and important climate-smart agricultural provisions. Speakers detailed how the federal investments are vital for Scranton and Northeast Pennsylvania’s economy, which includes a large agricultural sector, and addressing food insecurity and climate change. Speakers urged Pennsylvania’s congressional leaders to protect climate-smart agriculture investments against any rollbacks or efforts to redirect funds. Speakers also called on Congress to pass the Farm Bill this fall that protects these valuable investments in agricultural sustainability. The event took place at the Garden of Cedar in Scranton.
