Unique Electric Vehicle Road Tour Brings Together Elected Officials, Farmers, Doctors, Nurses, and Environmental Justice Leaders and Experts to Promote the Benefits of Climate Progress and Clean Energy
WASHINGTON–Today, the Climate Action Campaign (CAC) launched its Clean Energy REVolution Tour, a 6-state, 6-week tour highlighting and celebrating clean energy investments and solutions for pollution driving climate progress over the last two years. The tour will make stops in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Extreme weather events such as high heat, flooding, wildfires, and destructive storms occur more frequently. This inspiring series of Clean Energy REVolution events will highlight how the critical clean energy investments delivered through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), and the Solutions for Pollution standards have advanced the country’s efforts to address the climate crisis.
This unique road tour will feature The REV, a visually striking, all-electric campervan by Grounded, an innovative Detroit startup. Traveling through different states, the REV will serve as the backdrop for these events joined by federal, state, and local elected officials and local climate experts, business leaders, farmers, doctors, nurses, labor leaders, and environmental justice advocates to celebrate climate progress. The tour will also showcase how the IRA and the BIL are creating jobs, improving public health, and fostering economic growth nationwide.
"This incredible journey will highlight the transformation to a clean energy future driven by investments in wind, solar and EVs as well as the Solutions for Pollution implemented by the EPA and other agencies,” said Margie Alt, Director of the Climate Action Campaign. "These bold actions drive climate progress and economic opportunity while slashing climate pollution and protecting our health. The Clean Energy REVolution Tour will tell that story and make the connection for people while demonstrating the local progress happening in their neighborhoods.”
The IRA has created over 310,000 clean energy jobs, with 585 new clean energy projects announced nationwide, resulting in $361 billion in new investments. These investments are driving progress in electric vehicle manufacturing, battery storage facilities, home energy efficiency, coastal resilience, and renewable energy manufacturing, significantly boosting job creation in both construction and long-term operations phases.
Climate and clean energy solutions are providing relief in communities across the country, with the promise of reducing climate change’s most catastrophic impacts. The Biden administration has implemented Solutions For Pollution standards to clean up power plants, vehicles, and appliances to help tackle the climate crisis and provide a safe and healthy environment.
The Clean Energy REVolution Tour is open to all who want to support the transformative power of clean energy and climate action. Please join us at any of the events along the way.
