The Feed: Stories of Climate-Smart American Farmers
The Inflation Reduction Act provides funding for climate-smart agriculture through popular federal conservation programs that support food security and fight climate change. Climate-smart agriculture practices are being adopted by farmers across the country and political spectrum.
These popular conservation programs are already increasing food productivity and security, enhancing resilience, and reducing carbon pollution which threatens farming by worsening climate change-fueled extreme weather like drought, flooding, severe storms, and wildfires. Climate-smart agriculture practices, such as cover cropping, nutrient management, and conservation tillage help farmers better withstand the effects of the climate crisis and reduce climate pollution from the agriculture sector.
However, funding for these practices is limited, putting farmers and ranchers and their livelihoods – and our food supply – at risk.
The FEED brings to life the stories of farmers and ranchers who support and use climate-smart agriculture to feed the world in more efficient, profitable, and sustainable ways. Check out their stories – and share yours!
